Packing up some clothes

Is it silly that I get nostalgic when I pack away the clothes that Caroline has grown out of? I had the hardest time putting away her newborn stuff. I couldn't even bring myself to put them in a Rubbermaid container in her closet for awhile. I packed them away in one of her dresser drawers until I needed it for some other stuff. Now, it's time to pack up the 3 month clothes...well, most of them anyway. She can still fit into her little blue jeans and her shirts. Her pj's and onesies are getting a little short since she grew those 3 inches (the pj's include the very first thing I bought the day I found out we were having our Caroline--so sad to see them go...). Even if she could still fit in all of it, I need to pack it away because this child has a massive amount of clothing in the 6 month size. I hope her growing slows down a bit so she can actually wear all of it! She used to spend the whole day in pj's a lot of the time, but now I try to dress her everyday so she can get it all worn. I'm officially addicted to buying baby clothes...it's a debilitating disease. :-) After packing up and washing the new stuff, I am officially cutting myself off from buying anything Caroline can wear in the near future...now, stuff for next summer, that's a completely different story!!

4 months (and 1 week!)

Here is our monthly picture that is getting harder to take since she wants to grab and hold the sign!

I'm a week late with our 4 month update...but it was worth the wait because we have lots of exciting new things going on. Caroline had her 4 month check up and shots on Wednesday, and here are her stats:

Weight: 13 lbs, 6 oz (50th percentile)
Height: 25 in (75th percentile--she grew 3 inches in 2 months!)
Head circumference: 16 in (50th percentile)

Here are some new developments (it's hard to keep track because it seems like they happen almost everday!)

*She has found her feet and loves to grab them (especially when Mommy is changing her diaper) but hasn't put them in her mouth yet.

*She will reach out and take a rattle you hand her and will also reach out and pick one up that is laying beside her.

*She loves her Exersaucer and bouncy seat and can grab the toys that hang above her. She loves to pull them and listen to the music they play.

*She is starting to get some more hair, and it's blonde--yea!

*I don't know if she will ever learn to sit up because she wants to stand all the time!

*She is starting to blow raspberries...which means lots of drool to clean up...

*She rolled from her tummy to her back on March 16 and from her back to her tummy today!

*She really seems to look at the pictures and listen to the story in the book that John or I read her every night. Hope she'll be a big reader like her Mommy was when she was little.

*People always say she's such a Gerber baby. :-)

I'm sure there are a million more things I could add if I kept thinking about it. I am so glad that I'm able to stay home with her for right now, so that I don't miss a single thing. Watching her grow and seeing her personality develop is so awesome. I have always heard that you aren't able to fathom the love you have for your children until you have one, and now I honestly believe that. I am so lucky that God blessed me with such a perfect baby. I am humbled daily by the love that I feel for her.

Here are a couple more pictures. Enjoy!

Mommy loves this onesie!

1st time in my pool...would probably be better if I could sit up by myself!

Taken after her shots. I could only get a picture of one of the band-aids since she pulled the other 2 off and tried to eat one!

Easter

Caroline's 1st Easter was a good one! We went to church (we tried out a new one in our neighborhood and really liked it--the ladies in the nursery were super sweet and the preacher was good!) and then continued our tradition of going to Cracker Barrel for Easter dinner. The weather was beautiful so it was great sitting out on the porch in the rocking chairs while waiting for our table. Caroline was a big hit with everyone walking by. We were sitting right by where you come into the dining room, and we had so many people admiring our gorgeous baby!
